On 21 May, in the exceptional spaces of La Cantina by Harapkiewicz, the first edition of the Gault & Millau Signature Dinner took place – an evening that permanently enters the calendar of the most important events of premium Polish gastronomy. It was a culinary celebration in the distinctive “yellow” style of the Yellow Guide – full of flavour, emotion and meetings of the people who co-create the contemporary fine-dining scene in Poland.
The host of the evening was chef Wojciech Harapkiewicz, owner of the Świdnica restaurant La Cantina by Harapkiewicz and winner of the title of Chef of the Year in Traditional Cuisine, Gault & Millau Polska 2018. For years his cuisine has combined respect for tradition with a modern interpretation of Polish flavours, creating authentic and expressive culinary experiences.
He was joined in creating the menu by chef Andrzej Sawka from the Polanka restaurant at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Karpacz, representing a cuisine based on locality, seasonality and a contemporary approach to premium hotel gastronomy.
The special guest of the event was chef Robert Sowa from Warsaw’s N31 restaurant & bar by Robert Sowa – one of the most recognisable figures in Polish gastronomy, who for years has inspired young generations of chefs and actively contributed to the development of the fine-dining market in Poland. His presence gave the dinner a special character and underlined the event’s standing as a gathering of the industry’s key personalities.
The Gault & Millau Signature Dinner is not only a dinner, but above all a concept celebrating the idea of jointly creating gastronomy at the highest level – based on quality, relationships and the exchange of experiences. Each successive edition is a unique meeting of chefs who, through their signature interpretations, build a dialogue between tradition and modernity.
The evening at La Cantina by Harapkiewicz was full of culinary energy, inspiring conversations and an atmosphere that perfectly reflects the philosophy of Gault & Millau – discovering, recommending and supporting the best gastronomic experiences.
The Signature Dinner confirmed that Polish gastronomy is developing on the basis of strong personalities, cooperation and passion, and that gatherings of this kind are becoming an important element in building its international position.
